Students will no longer be able to wait in the Admin office for collection

Hi Families –

After reviewing the implementation of our ChildSafe Policies, we have decided that students being collected will no longer be able to wait for their parents in the office during the school day. Students waiting in the front office are not under the direct supervision of staff. Children will instead remain in their classrooms until their parents/carers sign them out at the office.

From today onwards: if you are collecting your children before 3:30pm the Admin staff will call down to the classroom after the parents/guardians have arrived in the office. The Admin staff can no longer organise to have your children waiting in the office when you arrive.

If you are collecting children to attend an appointment, we recommend you allow sufficient time for your children to gather their belongings and walk up to the office. If you contact the classroom teacher through Compass, they will endeavour (wherever possible) to have your children ready for the call from the office. This will also ensure they are engaged in learning whilst waiting for your arrival.

We appreciate your assistance in implementing this change to our processes, which will ensure Hillsmeade PS is continuing to provide a safe environment for all students.

Kind regards,

Leadership Team
