To prepare your child’s iPad for the 2025 school year, please follow this guide to install and set up the required applications. These apps are essential for your child’s learning experience at Hillsmeade Primary School.
Step 1: Ensure the iPad is Updated
- Go to Settings > General > Software Update.
- If an update is available, tap Download and Install.
Step 2: Install the Required Applications
Below is a list of required apps with installation links. Please download each app from the App Store.
- Microsoft Teams

Login required: Microsoft 365 student account. - Sketchbook

Step 3: Log In to Microsoft 365 Apps
- Open any Microsoft app (e.g., Teams or Word).
- Enter your child’s Microsoft 365 student account details. If students have lost these details or forgotten their password, this year’s teacher will give them a copy when they return.
- Allow the app to sync and grant necessary permissions.
Additional Tips for Parents
- Create a Folder for School Apps: To keep your child’s iPad organised, create a folder named “School Apps” and move all installed apps into it.
- Charge the iPad Daily: Ensure the device is fully charged each school day.
- Set Up Screen Time Settings: Use Apple’s Screen Time features to manage app usage and ensure a balanced device experience.
