Lesson 3
Learning Intention
To identify and compare natural and man-made features in a landscape.
Lesson Information
Steps to follow:
- Go outside and think about what might have been here when the dinosaurs roamed the earth. These would be part of a natural landscape.
- Now look and spot things that someone would have to make. These would be part of a man-made landscape.
- In a container, make a natural landscape that a dinosaur could have lived in. You might use sand, rocks, sticks, leaves or other things you could find outside.
- Talk to someone about what you have put in your natural landscape.
- Challenge: Can you draw your street, and label what features would be part of a natural landscape, and which would be part of a man-made landscape?
Lesson 2
Learning Intention
To identify what we notice at night. To think about what is the same and different about what we noticed during the day.
Lesson Information
Steps to follow:
- At night time, go into your backyard and see what you notice.
- Create a picture of all the things you saw when you explored outside during the day.
- Label your picture with words that match your pictures.
- Put your night time picture next to your day time picture and think about what is the same and different between the two pictures.
